Drain cleaning cost (2026)
| Typical drain cleaning (Angi, avg $246) | $147–$352 |
| One sink/tub/shower/toilet (HomeGuide) | $100–$275 |
| Multiple fixtures or main line (HomeGuide) | $175–$600 |
| Main sewer line (Angi) | $100–$800 |
What drives the price
- A branch clog vs. the main line
- Snake vs. hydro-jet
- An accessible cleanout, or pulling a toilet
- After-hours or emergency calls
- Roots or broken pipe, where clearing only treats the symptom
Beware very low advertised "drain special" prices. Confirm exactly what's included, especially for main lines. If the same line keeps clogging, pay for a camera inspection to find the cause. A single toilet clog is often a DIY fix (how to unclog a toilet, and when to stop). Main-line clearing is cheaper when there's an accessible cleanout (find your sewer cleanout).
